With exciting products hitting the market, we are looking for candidates who are passionate about high technology, food, innovation, and sustainability.  Ecoation is seeking a Robotics Engineer to join our team. This role will focus on solving hard problems alongside the R&D team. As a robotics engineer at Ecoation Labs, you will be working with our research and development team to help build the next generation of autonomous systems for use in agriculture. You will work across disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, and machine learning to help build practical solutions to common and novel agricultural tasks.

This is an on-site position in the Kingsville, Ontario area.

In this role, you will:

• Develop behaviour systems for autonomous mission execution
• Develop hardware interfaces that present well-crafted software APIs
• Design and implement systems for debugging, logging, monitoring, simulating, and testing devices and sensors for autonomous operations
• Participates in technical reviews of deliverables, specifications, and codes
• Troubleshooting issues across a variety of systems

Skills & Experience

• Deep knowledge and development experience with C++ and Python
• Experience with modern software development processes including design documentation, code reviews, CI/CD, testing, project management workflow, source control, and containerization
• Prototyping experience using off-the-shelf and custom components for integration into larger systems

Desired skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
• Familiarity with ROS
• Experience developing firmware for embedded devices
• Experience with circuit design, layout, and manufacturing
• Familiarity with SolidWorks and mechanical design
• Experience with mapping, localization, and path planning for autonomous ground vehicles
• Experience with machine learning, particularity in computer vision
• Familiarity with web app development using front and back-end frameworks
